How To Bring Up Weak or Lagging Body Parts
IFBB Pro Chris Johnson gives a tip on how to bring up weak or lagging body parts. This easy and quick method can be used by anyone.
Train your weak muscle group as you normally would. The very next day, train that muscle group again. This time choose one exercise, preferably an isolation exercise, and use very light weight (15-20 reps). Do 4-5 sets concentrating on pumping blood into the area.
The theory is that by delivering more blood and nutrients into the muscle group, it will stimulate faster recovery. You are not “breaking the muscle down” like you did in the previous days’ workout, but instead “feeding” it. The soreness or tenderness from the previous workout should make it much easier to get a mind/muscle connection, which is extremely important for stimulating growth. Once this mind/muscle connection is established, you will eventually find that your regular workout are much more effective and chances are that your lagging body part will lag no more!
