Do You Need More Fiber?

We all know it - dietary fiber is an essential component to a healthy diet. Do you get enough? If you're like me, chances are the answer is "no". It wasn't until I started using the fancy (and FREE) nutrition app, MyFitnessPal, that I realized I wasn't getting near enough fiber in my diet. And as a holistic nutritionist...that's downright shameful. I'm eating lots of vegetables and at least 1-2 pieces of fruit a day, but even so, only getting about 1/2 of my required 38 grams per day (women under 50 require about 25 grams according to the Mayo Clinic). Fiber plays an important role in good health. Here are a few key points:
  • promotes regularity
  • improves colon health
  • lowers LDL cholesterol
  • helps eliminate toxins from the body
  • increases gut health
  • promotes satiety while dieting
  • lowers blood sugar levels
  • boosts immune function
As luck would have it, as the CEO of a supplement company I'm able to utilize my resources to create the best darn fiber supplement possible: Carbon Fiber. Unlike most powdered fiber supplements on the market, Carbon Fiber is 100% natural...and still tastes great! On top of that it contains the two best sources of fiber: psyllium and inulin. Psyllium is used to treat constipation, diarrhea, lowers blood sugar levels, aids in weight loss, lowers cholesterol levels, improves heart health, and acts as a prebiotic, helping with serious gut conditions like Colitis and Crohn’s. Inulin aids digestion by increasing the number of good bacteria in the gut, particularly Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli. Inulin may help the body absorb more calcium, has been shown to be beneficial for people with prediabetes by helping manage blood sugar levels. Research is currently being done to explore the use of Inulin to prevent cancer. Since adding Carbon Fiber, my overall health is better than ever! I've noticed that my gut health especially has been improved. I'm also experiencing improvements in focus and energy. So much so, I've been able to lower my daily stimulant intake. So...do you get enough fiber? Probably not and now you know how important it is! Just 1-2 scoops of Carbon Fiber per day may get you in the range. Take it alone or stack it with Athlete's Superfood to really take your immune system and overall health to the next level. Like I've said before... "Big muscles don't mean a thing if you're not healthy." Do yourself a big favour and add Carbon Fiber to your daily routine. Give it a shot for a few weeks and let me know what you think!
